Amateur Chef Category (Tie):  Chris Fiore (Southwestern Chicken Soup) and Blake Underhill (Blake's Sweet Chili)

Thank you again to everyone who made our first-ever “Soup-er Family Fun Night” possible – there were those of you who made soups, got items donated, baked bread, loaned us crock-pots and volunteered at the event. And of course, thanks to those of you who came and supported the event! It was a fun night and so nice to see Dover residents of all ages enjoying and celebrating our town library - all the while raising money for the library. The chefs at all levels went all out and the consensus was it was hard to pick a favorite. And based on the empty crock-pots at the end, it is safe to say they were all enjoyed! Our delicious soups were:

The Friends of the Library's family "fun"-draising night at the Dover Library was our first ever Chili/Soup-off. Chefs of all ages were invited to submit their hearty soups to the contest, and in addition to amateur chef and junior chef categories, local restaurants were invited to submit entries for the professional category.

Just as important as our chefs were our tasters! The Friends also had fun activities for the kids, and a tile workshop area was set up so that people were able to make their own and add it to the beautiful wall. Additionally, the evening showcased what's new at the library and celebrated the recent recognition awarded to our library and its director (Dover Library was named a finalist for Library Journal's Best Small Library in America Award). Congratulations to Cheryl and the staff of the Dover Library!

TILES ARE UP!

The tiles are up! If you have not seen them yet, then stop by the library's lower entrance to see the beautiful tiles created by people who love the Dover Library. If you did not yet make a tile, there are still kits available - we want to make sure everyone who wants to make a tile has a chance.
